WILDERNESS THERAPY PROGRAM
We will not be running any trips in 2025, but plan to be back for the summer/fall of 2026. These wilderness retreats are for first responders and healthcare workers who are wanting to work through trauma, anxiety, depression, and/or grief & loss.
Getting out into nature is a perfect way to help with a mental reset. On these adventures, we will be backpacking, hiking, and camping for 5 days in the backcountry. This program incorporates EMDR and other evidenced-based practices to help participants start their healing journey and become more educated about how to work through their trauma. Click below for details about the wilderness therapy program.
DISASTER RESPONSE
In addition to my clinical practice and wilderness therapy program, I participate in mental health disaster response and recovery. I have responded to both natural and human caused disasters throughout Colorado and across the country to provide mental health first-aid and trauma therapy to survivors and first responders.
MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT AND RESEARCH WITH TEAMS GOING INTO EXTREME ENVIRONMENTS
In the spring of 2026, I’ll be going on an expedition paddling outrigger canoes through the Northwest Passage in the Arctic. I am really excited to be a part of the team. Part of my role on the team will be the mental health support for team members. I will also be researching what best helps individuals and teams build resiliency, adapt to unknown challenges in healthy ways, and maintain overall mental health from before the expedition throughout post expedition. Part of the research involves a Mental Health Toolbox for Expeditions designed to educate team members about how to work through a stress response, maintain team cohesion, increase adaptability, and maintain peak performance. There is also a specially designed EMDR protocol to help with increasing adaptability in extreme environments that will be taught to team members.
TRAINING | SUPERVISION | CONSULTATION
I enjoy teaching and educating people about all things related to mental health. I offer trainings to first responder agencies, businesses, medical facilities, expedition teams, sports teams, and schools. Please click below to find out more if you are interested in having me provide onsite training to you or your organization.
I also enjoy supervising and educating mental health providers working towards their LCSW or LAC license. Additionally, I am an EMDRIA approved consultant and offer individual/group consultation for therapists working towards EMDR certification.
